Since Jared had some time to burn for “Use or Loose” vacation this year, we decided that it would be fun to go back to visit Utah and our wonderful friends who live there. Of course, the prospect of “Bunny blasting” with Brian and friends and duck hunting with Art and friends was the heaviest weight in that favor. Suggest hunting to Jared in any form and you are almost guaranteed a visit. ;) But bonus for me, I got to see friends as well. Win-win!
We stayed at the Thomas’ house, and loved every minute of it. I swear that a normal day for them is much more exciting and event filled than a crazy day in South Dakota. It could be because of the 5 kids…or maybe not. ;) You would think that 10 days is enough time to see everyone you wanted to see, and maybe it would be if it weren't for the holidays being so crazy for most people. Luckily we got to see most of our friends, but unfortunately we didn't get to see all. I know you are all crazy busy, but we will have to make sure to catch you next time...and there WILL be a next time. :)
Cache had a blast hanging out with Emily, Jake and Jefferey. He's finally old enough to be able to go up in their playroom and actually participate in the things they do! He even wanted to play during games!
He liked to roll the dice |
He had to sit at the table with the big kids when they were playing a numbers game. |
They were all so good with him and loved to be around him. I love to see that, especially since they are practically family. Whenever I went to visit a friend’s house, he would just sit on my lap for a little while, but when he warmed up, he had so much fun! He got to play with Becky’s girls, Brittany’s girls, Aimee’s kids and a bunch of kids in nursery! He’s not used to having so many kids his age around. It’s fun to watch him interact. Nursery was interesting too. He would have been going into nursery on December 6 if we were still in Clinton, so the time he got to spend there was more important than me going to Relief Society (even though I would have loved to visit there too!) He got to play with blocks and cars and things. And he got snacks, sat in the music circle and tried to participate in the songs. It was really sweet to see.
I really need to make myself take more pictures when I'm there. We are just so busy that I don't think about it!
The last picture that I took at that right before we left was of Cache sitting in his high chair that Stef used to use for her kids, but keeps around for little ones. I don't think he wanted to go either...:)
We left late (9 pm) and didn’t get home until around 11 am, but we made it and Cache did really well! That DVD player Grammy gave him is such a life saver! But the trip would all be worth it if only for Stef’s special chocolates!
