There's a restaurant near the unit where Jared drills called "JJ's Bar and Grill" and this is a popular place to have lunch on the weekends. This Friday, Jared was there with a couple of other soldiers and I get a text with a picture of the menu that says, "Inferno Challenge here we come!" At first I was a little confused, but then I read the menu.
"12 of the hottest wings you will ever put to your lips. If you can finish these wings in 10 minutes, they are free and you will receive a JJ's spors Bar T-shirt!"
Oh boy.
Of course there are rules as well. NO beverage, NO napkins and NO other food. Yikes!
But he did it! 9 minutes and some odd second later, he downed all 12 of those fateful wings and got his free meal and t-shirt! I believe the bar owner (one of the J's) said that only 3 other people have every finished the whole thing in time.
And of course, this was the night we were to go out and enjoy a different restaurant and a movie all together, but thankfully, it didn't affect our night too much...:) We went to a place called "Smalley's" which has been featured on Dinner's, Drive In's and Dives. It's a Cajun BBQ place with a pirate theme. It was fun! And good food!
